01Project Overview

The Agentic Commerce Project is a strategic three-way partnership between URBN, Microsoft, and Stripe that enables customers to discover and purchase URBN products directly inside Microsoft Copilot’s conversational interface.

This positions URBN as an early mover in conversational commerce — a new sales channel alongside traditional e-commerce and retail.

The broader industry direction is clear: conversational journeys are converting, and the infrastructure is evolving to make merchant onboarding scalable (e.g., standards like ACP) and payments agent-friendly (e.g., shared payment tokens).

02The Opportunity

Conversational commerce replaces search → click → website flows with natural dialogue, allowing customers to complete purchases without leaving the AI interface.

04My Role

I was the Product Lead for the Agentic Commerce Project, where I also served as a design partner in the strategic three-way partnership between URBN, Microsoft, and Stripe. I managed the complex coordination across internal teams (engineering, fraud, legal, analytics, brand stakeholders), external partners (Microsoft and Stripe), and executive leadership while serving as the central communication hub for the initiative.

As design partner, I worked collaboratively with technical leads on external and internal teams on integration architecture decisions, manage timeline and scope tradeoffs, and validate technical solutions before implementation.

I was also responsible for strategic prioritization decisions, launch timing considerations balancing code freezes and holiday constraints, and investigating future expansion opportunities like Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP).
